SAAC: IFC and FCD talk CoachCam

SAAC: December 23

In July, Soccer Academy Alliance Canada announced a working partnership with CoachCam. Since then, some of the academies within our membership have had the opportunity to use the app in their day-to-day soccer activities.

Frank Iaizzo of International FC (IFC) raves about CoachCam’s ability to provide video analysis to coaches/managers post-game. “[CoachCam is] a great visual tool that allows coaches and athletes to review, analyze and problem-solve training/match analytics,” Iaizzo said.

On one hand it helps coaches visualize what went wrong/right during a particular game. However, Frank also believes it helps drive player development.

“[It is] a uniquely stimulating way to enforce development principles in training/match situations. ”

On the other hand, Rocky Sasitharan, FC Durham’s Girls Director of Player Development has used CoachCam to help convey tactical decisions to his players.

“We’ve used CoachCam for a couple of months now and have completed a total of 9 different video analysis of different games. The different illustration choices allow us as coaches to convey to our players exactly what we want them to see. Using video to help our teams recognize both their technical and tactical successes and breakdowns is paramount in aiding their development. CoachCam offers a very simple approach to video analysis and we’ve gone as far as to even let our players take part in breaking down the film that we have, ” Sasitharan said.

FC Durham and Toronto Skillz talk CoachCam

SAAC: October 4th

In July, Soccer Academy Alliance Canada announced a working partnership with CoachCam. Since then, some of the academies within our membership have had the opportunity to use the app in their day-to-day soccer activities.

Rocky Sasitharan, FC Durham’s Girls Director of Player Development has been working with the CoachCam app for over a month and spoke very highly of the different options within the application. “I will say the different illustration options that can be incorporated in the footage is top class. Lots of different animations and lines really covers all the bases in that respect and allows the user to really be able to show what they want to show using the specific animation.”

Meanwhile, Toronto Skillz Academy Director Jake Doodnath has been using CoachCam as an aid to help his players make better decisions on the ball.

“We have been using the Coach Cam software as a visual training aid for our players. This tool allows us to provide positive feedback and show the player different options that could have been chosen in a particular situation. Another benefit has been sharing information within our coaching staff, the videos allow coaches to share thoughts and also discuss corrections made to players during training.”

SAAC Partner with CoachCam

SAAC News Release:

Soccer Academy Alliance Canada is very happy to announce a working partnership with CoachCam.

CoachCam is an app that allows you to record, edit, analyze and share performance videos straight from your iPhone or iPad/Android Phone or Tablet. CoachCam was launched in November 2015 and was developed by Sport Technology Services after years working with UEFA developing technology for sports. They used their coaching base through UEFA to do some research about what coaches would like and how they would like to use it for sports technology. The resounding majority said, “simple, easy to use, quick, effective and cheap.”

Take a look at a sample video from their YouTube page:

At SAAC, we recognize that their are some players who are more prone to visual learning, and CoachCam is the perfect tool for these types of individuals to continue on their development path.

This partnership will allow some SAAC academies to have unlimited use of the app for developmental purposes. Meanwhile, CoachCam will be the official partner of SAAC’s “Photo Monday” promo on both Facebook and Twitter media platforms.

We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership and hope that this is another step forward in producing more star athletes coming out of Canada, while also spreading the word about the importance of sport video analysis for development.
