The Toronto Skillz Soccer Academy has recently continued their ongoing initiative to showcase and expose their Elite Level Academy Players to Global Opportunities through the game of soccer. The partnership between TS3 Academy and two of their German affiliates resulted in a three week training stint for their 1997 born U21 and U16 player Sameer Fathazada at Bundesliga-Academy teams: FC Nuremberg (FCN) and FSV Frankfurt (FSV).

Sameer spent the first two weeks at FSV Frankfurt impressing their coaching staff tremendously with his technical ability and was invited to participate in one of their preparatory games for their Bundesliga league game on the weekend. FSV played the U19 team of SV Erlenbach, which competes in the 2nd Bundesliga Youth Division, and he excelled in his 45 minutes of play. He scored two goals and was fouled for a penalty kick and a free kick, both of which resulted in goals for Frankfurt and they won the encounter 5-2. Overall the staff was very impressed with Sameer’s technical ability, work ethic, and professional demeanor and after his final practice with them, discussed exploring the process of having Sameer come to Germany to be a part of their Academy system.

At the conclusion of his time in Frankfurt, Sameer then moved to FC Nuremburg for a few days, where he was given an opportunity to train and be a part of an Academy of the storied Bundesliga team. Sameer again performed well, impressing the staff at FCN with his technical ability and they also expressed an interest in having him come to Germany to join their Academy in the future. They outlined areas of work that they believe he needs to improve upon to transition to the European game and TS3 and FCN have been working on a training program on and off the field to enable Sameer to take the next step in his pursuit of eventually becoming a professional player in Europe. Sameer has been part of the SAAC program for over 4 years. He is extremely excited about working towards returning to Germany next year to continue his development with Frankfurt.
